The Lotus Foundation is an umbrella organisation facilitated by Genie Poretzky-Lee and a circle of friends: Theolyn Cortens, Prue FitzGerald, Benedicte Paviot, Jay Ramsay, Will Shaman and Simon Zussman.

The Foundation offers a beautiful, still and sacred space for spiritual and artistic events in Central London, while also being the private home of Genie Poretzky-Lee. In an intimate setting, a small group of people can come together to experience music, poetry, workshops, healing and therapy.

A central preocupation of the Foundation is its belief in the importance of the artist in shaping our awareness at a visionary as well as imaginative level, and what it means to bring art and healing together in a synthesis that is at the heart of what our time is calling for. Our speciality as "artists-healers" then is individual and group work in a creative context. We want people to find more of their creative flow and authenticity with all that implies for our experience of identity, and how we can "create our lifes" as a result. We believe this is key to our experience of meaning, purpose and value as well as passion, engagement and love.

History

The Foundation came into being in 2001 as the result of the collaboration between painter Genie Poretzky-Lee and poet Jay Ramsay, which produced the publication of a limited edition of "Alchemy of the Invisible", a sequence of paintings and poems that explore and enact the alchemical process. The book was designed and produced by Orna Frommer-Dawson. We are now a registered charity in the United Kingdom (#1105150, The Blue Lotus Foundation).
